New restaurants open in the northwest all the time. When Able Baker Centennial Hills opened, I only wanted to know one thing: would we actually go back?
This week we went to find out. It is the second location of Able Baker Brewing, and I want to give you the facts, not the hype. Here is where it is, what it is like inside, the hours, what we ordered, and what we would order again.
Where Is Able Baker Centennial Hills?
Able Baker Centennial Hills is at 6371 Centennial Center Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89149. If you have lived here a while, you know the building. It used to be Montana Meat Co.
The silver silo out front now carries the Atomic Duck logo and the words Bomb Shelter. That name is not random. Able Baker is named after the first two atomic tests at the Nevada Test Site, and the Las Vegas Review-Journal covered the story when this location was announced.
The original taproom is downtown. Now the northwest has its own.
What Is It Like Inside Able Baker Centennial Hills?
It felt inviting from the minute we walked in.
Room to watch the game
If you are there to watch a game, there is plenty of space and plenty of TVs. They are in the bar, the dining room, and out on the bar patio.
The history on the walls
Inside, they walk you through the history of the Nevada Test Site and the Able and Baker tests the brewery is named after. According to Able Baker, the artwork and artifacts are on loan from the Atomic Museum. Give yourself a few minutes to look around.
Brews and cocktails
They have a long list of their own brews, plus a cocktail menu if beer is not your thing.
What Is the Patio Like at Able Baker?
The atmosphere was great. We sat on the patio, and honestly, that is where I would sit again.
It is covered, with string lights overhead and plenty of seating. Able Baker says there are two patio areas, including a green space with ping pong and cornhole.
What Should You Order at Able Baker?
The street corn
The street corn comes out cut into long planks, charred, and covered in a green crema, cotija, and chili. It is the kind of appetizer that disappears before anyone asks to share.
The atomic bombs
The atomic bombs are like mini mozzarella sticks. Perfectly seasoned and breaded, with a red dipping sauce on the side.
If you are only ordering one appetizer, I would have a hard time choosing. Order both.
The grilled chicken sandwich and the burger
I had the grilled chicken sandwich. It came on a glossy brioche bun with a side salad, and yes, a little yellow duck pick holding it together.
My husband tried the burger. Our verdict was the same on both plates. We would get them again.
That is the real test for me. Not whether a meal was good once, but whether you would go back and order it on purpose.
The one we heard about: the pastrami
While we were there, we got talking with another customer. Their advice: the pastrami sandwich is amazing, and this is the place to get one. We have not tried it yet, but it is on the list.

Is Able Baker Centennial Hills Worth the Trip?
For us, yes. Good food, a patio we would come back to, and plenty of room for game day made Able Baker Centennial Hills an easy repeat.
It is your call. If you are already in the northwest, it is close. If you live across the valley, it is a reason to see this side of town.
On Saturdays and Sundays they serve brunch. That is next on our list to try.
What Is It Like Living Near Centennial Hills Restaurants?
Here is the part most restaurant reviews skip. If you are thinking about moving to Las Vegas, where you eat on a Friday night says a lot about where you might want to live.
I live and work in Centennial Hills, so I see what opens, what closes, and what locals actually go back to. A new spot like this does not decide a move. It does give you a feel for the area before you commit.
